Recife Beaches--Boa Viagem---May 2012

On May Day I took a short walk over to see the nearby beaches at Boa Viagem that was packed with many of the people I rode in on the metro and bus. This was a big family holiday which you could see in these crowds that ran for miles along this beach. Every so often you would see these Shark Attack warning signs for over 19 people have died here since they started tracking deaths in 1962.

With the holiday over, the beach was now deserted as I was preparing to leave for Foatelaza.
