From our hotel, we took a number of tuk-tuks to the archaeological site which was about a mile from town.
It took a long time before we got to the archaeological site because our local guide Marvin spend more time talking about trees and vegetation than he did the monuments.
We first entered the West Court which contains the Acropolis, the Patio of Jaguars, and the altar. With COVID we were not allowed to enter the tunnels under the Patio of Jaguars.
We then entered the Gran Plaza which also contained the ball court as well as the hieroglyphic stairway.
We then return to Copan Ruinas for our lunch before heading to Suchitoto where we would spend two nights at the best hotel on this trip so far— the Los Jardines Maria Hotel.
The border crossing was very easy as we each had the San Salvador Immigration Official stamp our way into the country.
It was a beautiful drive to Suchitoto as it got dark and rainy on the narrower bumpy road.
I have recently uploaded all of my travel videos to YouTube now that they allow longer uploads. That link is https://www.youtube.com/c/huntforgold
If you do go there, please subscribe to my video channel since it will help me eventually get some income there and help with my future travels. Fewer people are using DVDs so I am transitioning to streaming my travels on my YouTube channel.
I’m already a subscriber; the powers that be won’t let me subscribe again! Great
