From our hotel, we walked across the plaza to the Casa Voyager Train Station for our hour train ride to Rabat.
Once in Rabat, we took a walking tour by the government buildings and then into the blue-lined Rabat Medina.
We passed by the fishing boat harbor and on to the mausoleum of Mohammed V where we were allowed to take pictures of the horse-mounted guards—the only military personnel you are allowed to take pictures of.
It was then on to Meknes where we spent the night in some very chilly rooms and fortunately the showers were hot. We then explored the grounds created in the 17th Century by Sultan Moulay Ismail. After getting some fresh-squeezed orange juice from a local vendor, I explored the Heri es Souani Granary and stables.
After touring the Agir lagoon and walking around the Royal. Grounds, we headed to the Medina where we squeezed in for some camel burgers.
We joined up with Samir with his 15 passenger van after lunch for the beginning of our drive around Morocco.
Our first stop was at the Roman ruins of Volubilis once the southernmost Roman outpost. Although severely damaged by the Lisbon earthquake several years ago many of the columns were still standing and some had been restored.
You could still see the mosaics on the floors of several of the homes that honored various Roman Gods. Our local guide gave us a great description of the place.
After a two-hour drive, we drove into Fez as it was getting dark and rainy. We stayed here for two nights.
I have recently uploaded all of my travel videos to YouTube now that they allow longer uploads and you may want to see my travel adventures there. That link is

If you do go there, please subscribe to my video channel since it will help me eventually get some income there and help with my future travels. Fewer people are using DVDs so I am transitioning to streaming my travels on my YouTube channel.
